WERS 2004 User Group – Fourth Meeting To be held in collaboration with WPEG Call for Papers The fourth meeting of the WERS 2004 User Group will take place on Wednesday 27th February 2008 at the University of Sheffield. The meeting will be held jointly with the Work, Pensions and Labour Economics Study Group (WPEG). WERS 2004 User Group meetings follow a similar format to those organised by other survey user groups. The WERS 2004 Information and Advice Service (http://www.wers2004.info) will outline developments in the use and enhancement of the survey data. However, the major part of the proceedings will be devoted to presentations from invited speakers on analytical issues or WERS 2004-based research. Call for Papers Users of WERS 2004 who would like to present a paper at the forthcoming meeting are invited to submit an abstract of around 500 words by Friday 11th January 2008. Abstracts should be sent by e-mail to: wers2004@niesr.ac.uk and should provide details of the substantive content of the paper, including the research method and main findings. Abstracts based on papers with multiple authors should also specify the name and contact details of the presenter (to whom all correspondence shall be addressed). A draft of the complete paper may be submitted with the abstract, if available. Papers are welcome on all topics covered by the survey and may present research findings or address methodological issues.
Each paper will be given a 40-minute time-slot at the meeting. Speakers will be given 25 minutes in which to present their paper. A further 15 minutes will then be provided for questions and discussion. Further information The Fourth User Group meeting will take place at the University of Sheffield. The meeting will begin at 10.15am and end at 4pm. The programme for the meeting will be advertised through the Information and Advice Service Mailing List and on this web-site in the week commencing 21st January 2008. A registration form will then be made available for those interested to attend the meeting. It is anticipated that around 45 places will be available for those not presenting papers. Attendance is free of charge and WPEG will refund reasonable domestic travelling expenses of UK-based academics and UK-based PhD students.
